HTTPS: Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure - Glossary Term

HTTPS is a secure method of transferring data using SSL (Secure Socket Layer method) over a normal non-secure TCP connection. HTTPS uses port 443 along side 40-bit encryption or the more popular 128-bit, which is more widely used.
