Remploy Electronics has been chosen by Minorplanet Systems to manufacture the hardware component of their Vehicle Management Information (VMI™) systems.
VMI™ is an innovative tracking tool that combines data from the GPS (global positioning system) satellite network with detailed management information to optimise vehicle routes, reduce fleet running costs and increase efficiency. The Institute of Transport Management recently named Minorplanet Systems 'Vehicle Management Solutions Company 2007'.

Leading telematics solutions provider Minorplanet Systems is a pioneer of vehicle tracking systems offering customers the choice of web or self hosted solutions. Founded in the UK and with operations across Europe and in Australia, the company designs, develops and installs all the hardware and software for its product portfolio. The company was looking for a subcontract manufacturer to support the production of its AEM5500 data collection unit, the hardware that links vehicles into the VMI system.
Once deployed onto a vehicle, the data collection unit is subjected to the same road and weather conditions as the vehicle. Any failure would result in expense and inconvenience so confidence in quality levels is paramount when Minorplanet selects a manufacturing partner.
