Remploy invests £500,000 in Barking PCB Production Line to support doubling of turnover

Remploy Electronics

As part of a continuing expansion programme, Remploy Electronics is to invest £500,000 in a new surface mount technology (SMT) PCB assembly production line at its Barking factory.

The announcement follows the recent installation of a new lead-free solder facility in Barking. Both moves underpin the organisation's ambitious growth strategy that targets a doubling of turnover in 2007.

Remploy's Bolton site has already benefited from investment in an SMT production line and lead-free solder facility that enable the division to offer the most advanced PCB manufacturing services currently required by UK-based small to medium size enterprises (SMEs).

Providing small, medium and high volume batch production in a high mix environment, Remploy's focus on rapid response time and quick change over capability is attracting new customers. The division does not aim to compete with the international contract equipment manufacturers but, rather, has identified a niche between them and the plethora of local suppliers.
