ACAL Microsystems, are now able to promote the latest quad power PC platform from GE Fanuc.
The NEXUS™ FORTE Multiprocessor features one, two or four PowerPC 7447A or 7448 CPUs (1.0GHz and 1.4GHz respectively) in a shared memory, multiprocessing architecture to achieve the highest performance for the most demanding signal, image and data processing applications.
This is a one design system with build options that cover commercial, rugged and conduction cooled markets to maintain software compatibility across both development and deployment environments. The shared memory architecture allows for up to 1GB of DDR 266 SDRAM, with ECC, to provide a 2.1GBps peak memory bandwidth.
I/O flexibility on board is provided by a variety of standard solutions which include ANSI/VITA31.1 compliant dual Gigabit Ethernet ports (10/100/1000) over PO, a Gigabit Ethernet connection on the front panel (commercial versions only), two serial ports, and dual PCI-X busses running at 133MHz.
Two on board industry standard (IEEE P1386) 64 bit/133MHz PCI-X PMC sites are also available providing a wide range of additional system interfaces and expanded functionality which include FPGAs and Switched Fabric interconnects. Signal routing for these sites is ANSI/VITA 35 compliant via the P2 connector.

Standard on the NEXUS FORTE is the enhanced performance of the 2eSST PCI-X to VME bridge from Tundra, which gives a boost of up to 320MB/sec for compatible VME64x backplanes and, at the same time, maintaining compatibility with legacy VME products.
Under Wingspan™ software development suite, there is support for VxWorks and Linux BSP with seamless operation on all GE Fanuc Embedded Systems' Multiprocessor PowerPC products. Additionally there are optimised VSIPL and Vector (2200+) Library functions.
